They used to be wooden cabinets
With black and white pictures
Under glass
Boxers
Wrestlers
Moving furiously

Then color tvs
Bigger
In plastic cabinets
Tucked in corners
Warming the bar
On winter nights
The wrestlers disappeared
But nighttime football
And baseball
And vietnam
Were
Abundant

Tonight
The tv is flat
Like a painting
Amidst the bottles
And the picture
Beautiful
Of oil gushing from the bottom of
The sea
Of terrorists being
Taken down
The news too huge
To hurt
Too lovely
To avert
My gaze
